3rd Saturday Art Tour in Roseville
|
"3rd Saturday Art Tour" invites the public to enjoy an evening out every month touring local art venues. Every third Saturday from 6:30-9:00pm guests are encouraged to view the artwork on display in a relaxed mingling of artists, art lovers and the curious.
"We want people to discover the growing and diverse art scene in the Roseville area," says Rohlfes. "3rd Saturday Tour is a very comfortable way for them to do that!"
A small Roseville collaborative started the tradition in January 2002 under Rohlfes' leadership and the contributing efforts of Margot Comer at Studio 5 Gallery and Terry Green at the 2237 Gallery. Initially mimicking Sacramento's successful 2nd Saturday event, in January 2003 the group switched to the 3rd Saturday and expanded its boundaries by welcoming Triple Vision Art in Rocklin. By October 2003, the tour had grown to include nine separate venues.
"The growing participation is terrific," remarks Rohlfes, "and the new energy coming into our local arts scene can only make it better! We'll be able to appeal to a broad audience and keep their interest with a diverse selection of artwork to enjoy and collect."
