Roseville Arts Center?s new 405 Gallery will greet the new year with an exhibit that is much more than an exhibit. Not only will "Artists in Action" display completed works for sale, but it will also provide learning opportunities for visitors by featuring seventeen local artists actively creating their art during gallery hours.
"We?re really experimenting a little with this exhibit," says Beth Rohlfes, curator for the non-profit Arts Center. "It gives our artists the opportunity to start off their new year with a blast of productivity! At the same time, we want our patrons to enjoy and be part of the action." Visitors are even invited to come watch the show be hung on January 7 at 9am. "Don?t be surprised, though," chuckles Rohlfes, "if we put you to work!"
Exhibiting and demonstrating artists will include Patricia Abraham, Sande Anderson, Don Bailey, Diane Bell, Mike Bergeson, Barbara Blabon, Billie Cox, Pedro Galvan, Helen Gruelle, Sam Gutierrez, Elma Jella, Yani Madonis, Heather McConnell, Marcia Murray, John Pearson, Kaye Train Smith, and Rosemary Ward.
Visitors are invited to see the show in action from January 7 through February 7, Tuesdays through Saturdays, 11am until 3pm. The gallery is located at 405 Vernon Street in Roseville. (916) 786-7827. |
