Since 1999, over 600 artists, celebrities and dignitaries have hand-painted clay masks for the Hospice Mask Project to raise awareness and much-needed funds for home care and hospice programs provided by Sutter VNA & Hospice. The collection includes masks by SF Giant Barry Bonds, singer Bonnie Raitt, Spanish artist Royo, California artist Nathan Oliveira, Mexican artist Jorge Ochoa, Japanese artist Nobuo Watanabe, Australian artist Jeff Gilberthorpe and local Roseville artists, including Diane Ruhkala Bell, Gayle Rappaport-Weiland, and Judi Stickney. Proceeds from sales of the masks benefit Sutter VNA & Hospice, a community based, not for profit agency and a Sutter Health affiliate. For more information, visit the online gallery at www.maskproject.com.
The Hospice Mask Project, produced by VNA & Hospice Foundation, is made possible by generous financial support from ACREM, ALZA Corporation, Bay Meadows Foundation, Concar Enterprises, June Ebensteiner Hospice Foundation, Mills-Peninsula Health Services, PPIB / HRH Insurance Services, Sobrato Development Company, Wells Fargo, and Washington Mutual.
